Harbin Ice-Snow World, the world’s largest ice and snow theme park, opened for the season this Wednesday. Many visitors came to enjoy the winter fun on the first day. Among them was He Rui from Guizhou, who traveled a long way to be there. He happily tried the 521-meter Super Ice Slide, despite the cold wind, and said it was really exciting.
Inside the park, there are many amazing things to see and do. The Super Ice Slide now has 24 lanes, with the longest track reaching 521 meters. There is also a big Ferris wheel offering a great view of the whole park. At the entrance, dancers and drummers welcomed visitors with “First-day Ice,” a special gift believed to bring good luck. The park’s main tower is shaped like the Chinese character for “mountain,” surrounded by snowflakes, showing the city’s love for ice and snow culture.
The ice sculptures this year mix old and new designs from around the world. Visitors can see copies of China’s Yellow Crane Tower and Belgium’s Manneken-Pis side by side. There are also models of ships that children especially like. “I’ve never seen such a mix of East and West in one park. It’s really worth visiting,” said Huang Jianlong, a student from Britain.
Harbin is famous for turning its cold winter into a popular tourist season. The Ice-Snow World helps the local economy grow by attracting millions of visitors each year. The city has also improved services, like offering free hot drinks and building warm rest areas. With more fun activities and better facilities, Harbin hopes to give every visitor a wonderful winter memory.
