Chinese motorcycle manufacturer ZXMOTO made history at the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) round in Portugal over the weekend, winning both races in the WorldSSP class. This marks the first-ever victory for a Chinese manufacturer in the series, breaking the long-standing dominance of brands such as Ducati and Yamaha.
French rider Valentin Debise won Saturday’s first race on the ZXMOTO 820RR-RS with a commanding 3.685-second lead. On Sunday, Debise overcame a mid-race mistake — running wide and dropping to third — before using the bike’s strong acceleration to fight back and take the win, securing a double victory for the team in just its second race weekend.
An emotional Zhang Xue, founder of ZXMOTO, said the victories were the result of years of dedication. He credited the success to the bike’s key advantages: the highest horsepower, the lightest weight, and the lowest center of gravity in its displacement class.
