Zhao showed strong skills from the start. He led 11-6 after Sunday’s games. On Monday morning, he increased his lead to 17-8. Williams tried hard to catch up, winning four games straight. But Zhao stayed calm. He finally won the 30th game with an 87-point break.
This victory means a lot to Zhao. He returned to snooker last September after a 20-month break. He worked hard as an amateur player during that time. Earlier, he won four qualifying matches to enter the championship.

Before Zhao, Ding Junhui was the first Asian finalist in 2016. But Ding didn’t win the title. Zhao’s success brings new pride to Chinese sports. He started his journey on April 7. He played nine matches and won 111 games in total.
Zhao told reporters, “I can’t believe it! It feels like a dream.” Young players like Zhao inspire millions of Chinese fans.
