Huang Ruiying makes cartoons about Chinese cultural relics (文物). His cartoons are very popular online.
In 2023, Huang visited the National Museum of China. He saw an ancient painting and remembered a cartoon from his childhood. Nearby, some people saw a Tang Dynasty horse and said it looked like a Disney cartoon horse. This gave Huang Ruiying a new idea.
Huang chose the Tao Ying Ding (陶鹰鼎) for his first cartoon. He worked very hard, drawing for many weeks. He used a classic Chinese cartoon style. He made the relic look cute but kept its special look.
Many people love Huang’s cartoons. Young viewers now want to visit museums to see the real relics. And this was Huang Ruiying’s hope. Even people in other countries like his cartoons.
Huang is happy that his work helps people enjoy China’s old treasures.
