第十八届中华图书特殊贡献奖揭晓

On Tuesday, the 18th Special Book Awards of China were announced in Beijing. These awards praise foreign writers, translators, and publishers. They help share Chinese stories, ideas, and culture with the world.

This year, six writers, six translators and four publishers from twelve countries got the award. The awards started in 2005, and 219 people from 63 countries have won them so far. The ceremony (仪式) was part of the Beijing International Book Fair, which ends on Sunday.

Martin Kern is a professor. He studies old Chinese books and writes about them. He wants people from different countries to learn about Chinese culture. Giorgio Erick Sinedino de Araujo helps people who speak Portuguese understand Chinese ideas. He introduces books like The Analects of Confucius.

Erik Robert Nilsson is a journalist. He writes about modern China’s growth. “This award isn’t just for my work,” he said. “It also tells me to share more China stories — both by writing and living them.”

These winners show how important cultural exchange is!
