Good personal hygiene helps you stay healthy and feel good! Here are five easy habits every teen should know:
1. Wash Hands Often
Hands pick up lots of germs that can make you sick. Always wash them with soap and water for about 20 seconds. Remember to wash:
·After using the bathroom
·Before eating or cooking
·After playing outside or touching pets
This simple step can stop germs from spreading and keep you healthy.
2. Brush Teeth Daily
Brushing twice a day keeps your teeth strong and breath fresh. Use a soft toothbrush and toothpaste, and brush for two minutes each time. Don’t forget to:
·Brush the front, back, and top of each tooth
·Clean your tongue to remove bad germs
·Drink water after meals to rinse your mouth
Healthy teeth help you eat well and smile confidently!
3. Take Daily Showers
Taking a shower every day keeps your body clean. Focus on:
·Washing armpits (腋窝), feet, and all body parts
·Using gentle soap to avoid skin problems
·Drying off and wearing clean clothes afterward
Wash your hair 2–3 times a week to keep it fresh and oil-free.
4. Keep Nails Short and Clean
Long nails can hold dirt and germs. Cut your fingernails and toenails once a week with a nail clipper. Never bite your nails — this can make you sick! After cutting, wash your hands to remove any dirt.
5. Cover Your Mouth When Coughing/Sneezing
When you cough or sneeze, use a tissue or your elbow to cover your mouth and nose. Throw the tissue away and wash your hands right away. Wearing a mask in crowded places can also help stop germs from spreading.
These habits are easy to follow and will keep you healthy every day! Start practicing them now, and they’ll become part of your daily life. Stay clean, stay well!
