On the afternoon of August 3rd, at the 2025 National Athletics Championships (田径锦标赛), Wu Yanni from the Sichuan team ran the women’s 100m hurdles (100米栏). She finished first in her group with a time of 13 seconds flat. She was 0.03 seconds faster than the runner in second place. This means she will go to the finals on the evening of August 4th.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she ran the 100m hurdles in 12.97 seconds – the fastest time ever for a Chinese woman at the Olympics. In March 2025, at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, she set a new Chinese record of 8.01 seconds in the women’s 60m hurdles semi-final.
