Juliana Fischer is 11 years old. She saved a 5-year-old boy.​

On August 15, little Jack Buss was playing outside. The cover of a water well broke. Jack fell 20 feet down. He shouted. His mom Kathleen heard a terrible shout and saw Jack trapped (使困住) underground.

Kathleen didn’t know what to do. She shouted for help. Juliana heard that and called 911. Then she saw a ladder (梯子) nearby. With her dad and Kathleen’s help, Juliana dragged the ladder to the well and lowered it.​

Jack climbed up with the ladder. Juliana saved him. Later, workers fixed the well cover to keep others safe.
