眼镜清洁与保养指南

Cleaning your glasses every day is the best way to keep them clear and avoid scratches. However, many people clean them the wrong way. Here’s a simple guide to help you clean your glasses properly.

First, always wash your hands with soap and dry them with a clean towel. Any lotion (洗液) or oil on your fingers may smudge the lenses (镜片).

Next, wash your glasses under cool running water. This helps remove dust and small particles that could scratch the lenses. Avoid hot water, as it may damage special coatings on the lenses.

Then, put a small drop of lotion-free dish soap on each lens. Gently rub both sides of the lenses and all parts of the frame, including the nose pads and temples. Be sure to clean where the lenses meet the frame — dirt often builds up there.

After that, rinse the glasses again. Gently shake them to remove extra water. Then, dry the lenses carefully with a clean, lint-free cloth. A microfiber (超细纤维) cloth is perfect for this. Do not use paper towels, tissues, or your shirt — these can scratch or make the lenses dirty.

Finally, check your glasses under light. If there are any marks, wipe them again with a clean microfiber cloth.

Remember:

Never clean glasses with your clothes, sleeve, tissues, or saliva — these scratch lenses or leave lint.

Don’t use household glass cleaners, as their ingredients harm lens coatings.

To store your glasses, always use a clean case.

Never place them lens-down on tables.

If your lenses are badly scratched — or you simply want new glasses — schedule an eye exam with an eye doctor near you.

By following these steps, you can keep your glasses in great condition for longer.
