Wu Tingting is forty-two years old. She is China’s first woman doctor in polar expedition teams (极地探险队).

In 2010, Wu worked as a doctor in a big hospital in Shanghai. She was lucky to join China’s Arctic and Antarctic expeditions then. Before that, most doctors in polar teams were men. But Wu has her own advantages (优势). She is more careful. She can find small changes in team members.

Polar trips had challenges. Besides bad weather, team members felt lonely. They had little entertainment (娱乐) back then. Wu tried to keep everyone in good health.
