He Weijing is a young guide in Guangzhou. She was born after 1995. She has worked as a foreign-language guide for two years, and she speaks English, Cantonese, and Italian well. She doesn’t just show people around — she sees herself as a storyteller and someone who helps share Chinese culture.

Weijing says more foreigners come to China for three main reasons: easier visa (签证) rules, cheaper plane tickets, and more people seeing China on social media. “Before, many thought visiting China was hard. Now they’re curious to see what China is really like,” she explains.

To let visitors know Guangzhou better, Weijing plans special tours. She shows them Lingnan traditions, like the tanglongmen — a three-layer half-gate that keeps air flowing and protects privacy (隐私). She also takes them to see fruit trees that local people grow in their yards. For visitors who love kung fu, Weijing has a special plan too. She takes them to Foshan, a city near Guangzhou. There, they can watch lion dance shows and learn about Bruce Lee’s legacy.
