A mother hen and her cute chickens were living happily in a country home. A little girl came to visit the country home. She was very bored (感到无聊的). One night, the girl went into the chicken house. Then the chickens began to cry.
The girl’s father slept next to the chicken house. He woke up.
“What’s going on? Why are you bothering (打扰) the chickens?”said the father.
“Because I’m bored,” said the girl.
“You have to sleep now,” said the father.
Next night, the girl went into the chicken house again. The chickens cried. The sleeping father woke up. “Why are the chickens crying again?” said the angry father. “What’s wrong with you? Is it okay to bother animals that can’t talk? You need to be punished (处罚).”
When the little girl saw her father’s angry face, she began to cry. “It is true that I bothered the chickens, because I was bored yesterday. But today I went in to say sorry to the chickens. I was going to hug the chickens.”
When the father heard what his daughter said, he said sorry to his daughter.
