Dong shared his learning method during a livestream, which turned out to be the famous Feynman Technique! The Feynman Technique is one of the most famous learning methods around the world. It can be simplified into four words: Concept, Teach, Review, Simplify! Its core thought is to express what you have learned. How did Dong practice it? He said he took notes after reading the book, made a main frame (框架) and repeated the main idea in his own words. If you can’t express what you have learned, it means that you still don’t master it. Dong also suggested that parents prepare a whiteboard for their children and let them speak out what they have learned. The Feynman Technique not only helps us deeply understand what we learn, but also makes it remain in our memory long.
The Feynman Technique is a common learning method, and another method called SQ3R is also efficient for English learning. That is: Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Revise. We can practice the method on WeChat mini program “英语时文阅读”. Also, a newly-developed reading machine is available, on which you can practice SQ3R learning method. Every reader using the program or reading machines can find suitable (合适的) reading materials that are updated (更新) every day. What’s more, it helps improve students’ vocabulary, reading, listening and speaking.
