These days, electric (电动的) cars are becoming more popular than gas-powered cars(汽油车). But according to Pew Research Center, more than half of U.S. adults don’t want to phase out gas-powered cars. They say electric cars are expensive and charging (充电) them is a problem. We asked some younger people what they think.
Electric cars are better for the environment. Some people think electric cars are expensive. But their prices are coming down. Anyway, I think we’re going to run out of gas at some point. This will make electric cars a necessity (必需品). Finally, many electric cars are smaller and easier to park.

I don’t think all cars should be electric. First of all, charging stations are less common than gas stations. This makes electric cars a lot less convenient (便利的) for long trips. Electric cars are also more expensive than gas-powered cars.

I think we should all have electric cars. This is good for the environment and allows us to breathe better. Cleaner air also means there will be fewer animals dying. Some electric cars are more expensive. But they need less maintenance than gas-powered cars. So the costs start to even out.
