One night, a firefighter (消防员) was working in the office. He heard a noise. There was something wrong with the Safe Haven Baby Box system. He ran to see what was wrong. To his surprise, he found a baby girl in a box. Her parents couldn’t care for her. So they left her there. The baby girl was just cold. The firefighter picked her up and held her. Then he thought of an idea.
The firefighter and his wife didn’t have a baby. They always wanted to adopt (收养) one. Now the baby girl is their 5-month-old daughter, Zoey.
