On a Monday afternoon in Berlin, an 18-year-old boy was trying to catch the bus at a local stop. Accidentally, he got trapped under the bus. The bus driver took action quickly. He stopped the bus right away. About forty people, including passengers and some passers-by came together to help. They tried to lift the right side of the bus to free him. Thanks to these strangers’ help, the boy was finally saved. .
Frank Kurze, one of the kind people who joined in the action, said, “I saw the men trying to lift the bus, and it was clear to me that I also had to help lift the bus and try to free the boy.”
Doctors and nurses from the nearest hospital arrived at the place to provide important first aid. Michelle Rueckborn, one of the nurses, said, “We were at work when we heard screams, and our boss looked out of the window and saw what had happened, and said ‘Take the case and run.’”
According to the police, the boy was lucky and only hurt slightly. Sandra Grunwald, another nurse, said, “He reacted (作出反应) quickly, but didn’t know what was happening.” The police did not provide further information about the 18-year-old’s condition.
