CPeter knows how to play the basketball game. He also knows that sports are not the only thing in life. When Peter was eleven years old, his parents separated (离婚). He stayed with his grandmother, June, in New York. His grandmother’s house was only fifteen minutes from his parent’s house, but he didn’t play with his old friends. He played with his two older cousins. One of his cousins liked playing basketball with his friends. After they finished, Peter went to play basketball by himself. He played well. After a while, the other players wanted to play basketball with him. While Peter worked on his game, his grandmother worked hard to support (支持) him and his cousins. June worked at the hospital. BJack’s mother tells Jack and his brother John to clean their yard. John goes to his room and tells Jack to clean the yard. Jack cleans the yard. One hour later, his brother comes out. John brings something like a vacuum(真空吸尘器). Jack looks at John and asks, “What is this?” John says, “It is Toratazaloo. It is a great invention. We can use it to clean the yard or house.” Jack watches John when he uses his invention, but it doesn’t work. John looks at it and checks it. One hour later, John uses his invention to clean their yard. The yard is clean. Jack says, “John, you are so great!” They are very happy. The two boys tell that to their parents. They are surprised.

D    This year, The Voice of China (the second season) hit China again. The Voice of China was a Chinese reality talent show. It has greatly influenced China. Chinese audiences are also broadening their musical taste. And it wanted to bring back China’s belief in music. “Almost every other show in China looks at someone’s appearance to judge their talent,” says The Voice of China director Zhang Weiqi. “This isn’t one of those shows.”The Voice of China was on Zhejiang Television. It gave a good stage for the people who loved singing songs and gave them a choice to show their voice people all over the world. In this season, Wang Feng, Na Ying, Zhang Huimei and Yu Chengqing were the teachers. They were popular and people liked to listen to their songs very much. They gave their students lots of help and helped them make great progress. The final battle was on October 1, 2013. Li Qi, the singer from Amei’s family won the first prize. Zhang Hengyuan was second and Xuan Xuan was third. We hopewe can watch this programme next year.

C“Where Are We Going, Dad?” is the theme song of the star parenting reality TV show.Produced by Hunan Satellite TV, the show invites five male stars from different fields and their children. The guests are Olympic diver-turned-actor Tian Liang and his 5-year-old daughter Tian Yucheng(Cindy), Taiwanese actor Jimmy Lin and his 4-year-old son Kimi, actor Guo Tao and his six-year-old son Guo Zirui(nickname: Little Stone), model Zhang Liang and his six-year-old son Zhang Xuanyu (Nickname: Tiantian), director Wang Yuelun and his 4-year-old daughter Wang Shiling(Angela).  “Where Are We Going, Dad” has aired every Friday night at 10pm on Hunan Satellite TVsince October 11th. BMany cities have interesting nicknames. New Orleans probably has more nicknames than any other American city. One web site lists its more than twenty nicknames. The most famous is “The Big Easy”. It shows the slow and easy-going way of life in New Orleans.So how did the city getthis nickname? In the early 1900s there was a dance hall in New Orleans called“The Big Easy”.
